Uniglide Mobile Bearing Knee Replacement

Dr. Stefan Kreuzer located in Houston Texas, one of the co-lead investigator in the Uniglide Mobile Bearing Partial Knee Replacement study, implanted his first study patient on December 1, 2008.

The Uniglide Mobile Bearing Partial Knee Replacement System is currently in clinical trials to provide data for application to FDA for approval in the USA. The clinical study has been designed to enroll 420 patients at up to 18 investigational sites. Surgeons are selected based upon experience with partial knee replacement. The investigational Mobile Bearing partial knee replacement is being compared to a Fixed Bearing partial knee replacement that is already FDA cleared for the USA market.

Dr. Kreuzer graduated from medical school at the University of Texas in San Antonio in 1995. He went on to do his orthopedic residency at Galveston and completed a Fellowship in Joint Reconstruction at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas in 2001. He has six publications with several appearing in peer review journals. Dr. Suneel Kumar, Research Associate, and Melinda Tindel, Clinical Research Coordinator, will provide research staff support for Dr. Kreuzer for the Uniglide clinical study.
